Gosh, it seems like eons ago that I started in real estate. I got my license in 1985, back when interest rates were 14% and discount points on VA loans were an additional 6%. That makes me ancient, but it also makes me a seasoned professional who has seen buyer's markets and seller's markets. (Which is translated into "good" times and "bad" times)
I feel so fortunate to live in a beautiful community that seems to buck the national trends...... Granted, listings are up in Spokane, but we have many qualified buyers who are looking for new homes. Price your home competitively and have an agressive marketing plan in place and you will be a winner.
I lived in Spokane as a young girl, went to elementary school here...and returned again, as an adult to raise my son, work and play. I have been actively involved in the community throughout the years in many volunteer positions such as Cub Scouts, Walk-in-the Wild Zoo, PTA, volunteer fire fighter, volunteer Emergency Medical Technician, Newman Lake Flood Control Zone Board and more.
My husband and I enjoy boating, camping, fishing and getting out with our families. We have an old house boat that we spend our spare time remodeling.
Now that you know about me.....I hope you will take the time to share with me.
When you hire me......you know I have been around long enough and have enough experience to help get you through any situation that might arise. I so look forward to meeting you.....answering your questions...and assisting you with you real estate needs.

Hi Chris......
You got me on this one. I don't see a post anywhere from Tyler....stating he bought anything or that he moved so help me out here.......Bring this old gal up-to-date and help me be a better person/agent by telling me where to find that information. Chris, I wasn't responding to just Tyler.... Others read these posts and sometimes find great answers to their questions. Thanks Chris for welcoming to Trulia... And thanks Beth for the update on Tyler. - Tue Jun 10 2008, 21:48
Tyler,
What a great time to consider buying in Spokane. I just helped one of our Armed Forces members find a new home for their stay in Spokane. They bought a home on a short sale.....had instant equity in it.
Best of luck in your search. Let me know if I can be of assistance to you.

I am new to Trulia.....but I am jumping in to answer any questions or be of assistance to anyone. I don't usually "join" many outside activities because I am busy selling homes, but I like this site.....I like the interaction and I can do it in the middle of the night! It's interesting to find out what others think. Take for example, the guy from Topeka who hates FHA loans... FHA has not been the loan of choice in our area for several years, but is coming back into favor. 24 years ago, when I got into the business, it was nearly the only choice. VA loans were asking for 6-10 discount points, their appraisals were nightmares....and conventional loans were difficult unless you had a 10% downpayment. We still sold real estate! The pendulum is swinging back again. We are seeing more owner contracts and creative ways to structure a transaction. 20 years ago we predominantly represented the seller...regardless of whether we had the sellers or the buyers. Now we have a choice.
I personally like the way things are going in my community. We still have a vibrant real estate market and we have good, qualified buyers. We have 4000 active MLS listings......but we also have over 1000 pending sales.
Thanks Trulia for giving me a new voice. And thanks to those people out there who need me! (smiling)

Hi Pat,
I am new to Trulia......so my offer, while old to you, is new for me. (smiling) It looks like you may have made contact with Ross Quintana. We worked together a few years ago and he's a great guy who will work hard for you. If you haven't selected an agent yet, please feel free to contact me. I would be interested in knowing what part of Eastern Oregon you live in. I spent several years in LaGrande...

Hi Susan,
Guess this answer may be a little late, but I would like to join in. Spokane is a small city......and we are just coming into our prime with Condos and Townhouses. It's becoming a lifestyle choice that many locals are now entertaining. We have several choices in many areas.......depending on what you are seeking. The term Condo......could mean something entirely different than what you might expect in San Jose. Are you looking for a high rise building? Townhomes? Zero Lot line locations? PUD with individual homes yet similar amenities to condo living. such as snow removal and landscaping. I think if you are moving to Spokane you will find prices and monthly fees to be affordable, locations to be convenient and a wide variety of selections. 2 weekends from now there will be a downtown open house for those who are interested in condo living in the midst of the city. It's a wonderful opportunity to view downtown living and see if it what appeals to you. If you prefer suburban living.....we have many nice homes that come under that category, too.
Spokane is a wonderful place to live!!!!! So, of course, I think buying a home here is a great idea. We have great schools, award winning health care facilities and any kind of shopping you want or need. We get Broadway Plays, have an outstanding symphony, and more. But the best part is the outdoor activities. There are beautiful lakes within a 30 minute drive world-class snow skiing just a few miles away......... So, no matter what thrills your interests and tastes, you will find it in Spokane. Best of luck in your search. - Mon May 26 2008, 15:40
