Capitol View is a small but vibrant neighborhood which is located just South of downtown Atlanta and originally had a view of the State Capitol Building. The homes are historic bungalows and brick Tudors built primarily in the 1930's

There is Capitol View and Capitol View Manor. Metropolitan Ave is the street that separates the two neighbors, Capitol View Manor is to the east between Metropolitan and I75/85 and Capitol View is to the west bordered by the railroad tracks along Murphy Ave. and Dill Ave to the south.Capitol View Manor has many brick Tudor styled homes which were built mostly in the 1930's. Capitol View, on the other hand, has more wood frame houses from the 1920's, the Bungalow style. The area has undergone a lot of change. I think you will be happy there. Go for the new cabinets and granite or hard surface. The best sellers are Maple and dark cherry in most areas. Granite now can be had for under $35 per foot installed for most colors. Ask around for most popular in your area. Also go to the nearest new home near you. Look at their spec homes(not the model so much) and ask what is most popular options. It we give you a leg up when your ready to sell. Also usehttp:// www.trulia.com to look at houses selling in your area! Good Luck! - Thu Sep 13 2007, 19:26
