Hi Jason,
I see now that you asked this question in November, and I'm responding in January. Hopefully you didn't buy a car yet. Interest rates are great right now, so if you haven't started your refinance, get your financial information together soon and get to a reputable lender! It's a great time to refinance.
Good Luck,

Hi Babs,
Freestone is a "rural area" so in that regard it is further out and a bit isolated, but the people are friendly and would be willing to help, if you needed anything. If you wanted the rural feel, but didn't want to be quite so far out, I would recommend you look in Sebastopol, about 10 minutes east. We have a cute small town, all the necessary stores here, and malls only 15 minutes away in the "Big City" of Santa Rosa!
I moved here 23 years ago from Santa Clara and love the beauty of Sonoma County: only minutes to the coast and yet in the heart of wine country! What more could you ask for? I'd be happy to show you around if you have some free time for a visit.
Best Wishes,

Hi Mel,
Well, compared to prices you're used to in Los Gatos, current prices in Sonoma County would seem like a bargain. Prices are still unstable, so you can make a good deal, however even with a 20% down, you would not have a positive cash flow after taxes and insurance are included. If cash flow is not your main objective, then, "Yes, it is a good time to buy an investment property". And the rental market is strong.
Would you be interested in a single family dwelling or multiple units? I can e-mail you a list if you'd like.

Hi Karin,
As you may have guessed, if you're wanting a "newer home" on a larger lot, it's going to be at a higher-than-median price. You didn't mention a Price Range that you're wanting to stay within, so it's hard to say just how many homes might meet your criteria. But 0.05 acres is not very big, so it's very easy to find larger lots than that. I'd be happy to give you a tour of the area whenever you're in our beautiful Sonoma County! This will be a great time to be a Buyer--in 2008!
