Melissa - I am a real estate investor and a real estate team owner. I have offices in Bellingham, Everett, and North Seattle. Bellingham is and has been a strong market for a while probably not as strong as Seattle.
Either way homes will always appreciate more then condos. Seattle has a vast amount of land that more and more condos can be built on. Cheaper homes in Bellingham are getting harder and harder to find. So to sum up I am an advocate of Bellingham. I own many rental properties here and have found it easy to rent and easy to increase rents year after year.
