My Building Industry Background and Progression:
My career started 20 years ago selling granite and marble to the design community. I followed that up with selling the entire interior design package and it's installation to the new construction industry. My decision to join Windermere seemed like a natural progression, as I have sold so many items within the home, why not sell what I love---the Home itself! My father, a veteran Windermere agent, encouraged me to choose Windermere for the support and knowledge they encompass. When you combine my enthusiasm, problem solving and negotiation skills with the experience of Windermere, I will be a powerful and creative advocate for you!
Communication is KEY:
My clients have typically expressed surprise at how quickly I respond to phone calls and e-mails. I know how important this buying or selling your home is for you. I will be your buffer by staying on top of details and keeping you well-informed. I look forward to listening to you and helping you find the best solution to your real estate needs.
A Life-Time of Multi-Tasking:
Real estate transactions involve a lot of steps and require attention to numerous important details. With multiple clients in varying stages of transactions, the agent's ability to multi-task effectively is paramount to success. During my years of management and sales within the building industry, I learned to be a capable multi-tasker. I learned that rapid appropriate response and effective communication with my clients kept small challenges from becoming big problems. Happy clients are the desired end result!

I have worked in Georgetown forever as I used to sell marble and granite. Most of the old warehouses are being converted to office space as commercial real estate can garner more money than can residential real estate. However, there are still quite a few homes that have not been converted to commercial still available in Georgetown.
There is new construction that can be converted to look old, but I suspect that that is not what you are looking for. Any other questions, feel free to ask. - Tue Apr 22 2008, 11:19
Some agents are now using Buyers Agency Agreement to talk to buyers about how we as agents get paid. If your agent is bringing this up with you it could be because he/she is wanting to make sure they get the full buyer's commission. This may be because you have brought up working with other agents, you could have asked them about for sale by owners, etc. If agents are going to work with you and spend their time to show you homes, they want to make sure that the end result of that is they get paid for their efforts.
Some agents regardless of who they work with require that this agreement be signed. Three percent of the sales price of the home is the usual commission that the buyer's agent receives as a part of the sale. - Tue Apr 22 2008, 11:13
If you are thinking of putting in radiant floor heating, YES!!! Especially in the bathrooms. It is a very efficient way of heating and in the Northwest, you absolutely need it on cold tile floors. The only caviat with radiant floor heating is with hardwood floors. Make absolute sure that the hardwood flooring is made to go over radiant floors. Otherwise you can get delamination and warpage. - Mon Mar 3 2008, 18:01
I was in the flooring business previous to real estate. Bamboo is a sustainable material. However, the look is a little more limiting to most houses. There are other sustainable woods. Weyerhaueser produces one out of South America under the name of Lyptus. There is also Eucalyptus that comes from Australia. So, if sustainable is the reason you are using bamboo, there are other options. Google sustainable forests or sustainable woods and you should get more info.
Another question that you should ask yourself if you are choosing Bamboo, what about indoor air quality? Most wood manufacturers do not consider this in the finishes and most bamboos and prefinished floors come with a petroleum based finish. Check with your flooring installation for a water based finish, as it will have less off-gassing. Also check with Environmental Home Center as they also have finishes that will be more conducive to indoor air quality. - Mon Mar 3 2008, 17:55
