I love living in Seattle and as a real estate agent, I enjoy sharing with others why Seattle is a wonderful place to live, and exploring what I call Seattle's Urban Villages. Those Urban Villages are the neighborhoods that surround Seattle, and each has it's own unique characteristics that make living there a wonderful place to call home.
Urban Villages such as Alki, Ballard, Belltown, Capitol Hill, Eastlake, Fremont, Georgetown, Madison Park Madison Valley, Madona, Magnolia, Montlake, Queen Anne, Wallingford, Westlake, West Seattle and many more neighborhoods. Then there is the Eastside: Bellevue, Kirkland, Medina, Clyde Hill and more!

Because of privacy restrictions I am not sure if a school is allowed to release information regarding former students, and it's doubtful they would have any current infomation on past students. I am including a link to Gatzert (as it is now known as) Elementary School contact information for you here:

You may want to try one of the online search companies who specialize in finding former classmates. I have never used one so I can't recommend one for you.

Hi Tasha,
You can usually see the condo by any of three ways:
1) Arrange to see it with your real estate agent, who would be Your agent who represents you, and looks after your best interests.
2) Arrange to see it with the listing agent, who represents the seller and their best interests, you might want to be careful about what you say when talking to them.
3) See the condo conversion during an Open House. You can find out when that would be by contacting the listing agent, seeing the notice in the newspaper (if its advertised), drive-by to see if the real estate sign is posted with an Open House day and time and come back then.

Hi M,
In late summer and fall there is usually an inventory build up of homes which puts a bit of downward pressure on home prices since there are less homebuyers for the available homes. Since we are already in a buyer's market, you may get more for your money this fall if you get into a short term rental now.
Also, if you rent for 3 months or so, you will have the advantage , as Keith commented, of checking out areas and neighborhoods to have a better idea of the best location for you. Unfortunately, you would have to move twice to do this. Of course if you know you are doing this when packing up, you can pack for short-term needs and store the rest so you have to pack and unpack so much.
If you are not moving to the area until late Aug or Sept, then that is when inventory begins to build up more so if you don't want to move twice in a short period, then buying at that time could get you more for you money.
By spring there will be more buyers looking to buy and it's possible that interest rates would be higher, as Bryan and Mary commented, so the conditions may not be as favorable to you. On the other, home prices could go lower, and even if interest rates go higher, it could even it out...or not. None of us can really know what our market and mortgage conditions will be like.
Whenever you do decide to buy, be sure that it's a location that you will enjoy for 3 to 5 years , more likely 5.
