Hi Melissa -
Relocating to Seattle can definitely be overwhelming - each Seattle suburb has its own characteristic and it really does depend on your situation. I lived in Concord until the 1990s and I do love the similarities here - although it is a lot greener and smaller here!
Choosing a location will depend on what is important to you. Schools, commute time, and other activity as well as of course price are all big factors. I personally really like the Northern Suburbs because they offer a nice combination of easier commutes, good schools and more bang for your buck as far a house price goes...look at Edmonds, Shoreline, and even up to Lynnwood and Mill Creek...
Good luck with your move and have fun! Seattle is an exciting place to move! - Sat Aug 23 2008, 22:32

Hi SH -
I lived in Tx, too, and I can tell you that you will find that the property taxes here are more appealing:)
Seattle suburbs in the North are my favorite as far as most bang for your buck with good schools, great neighborhoods, and easier commutes. The transit stations are really improving and commute time is easier than in the south end.

I do a lot fo RELOs and I sympathize with you because moving is really hard. Moving to Seattle, though is exciting! Please feel free to contact me if you have questions along the way. - Thu Jun 26 2008, 15:54

Courtney Cooper answered:
Hi Diane -
I always have a back up plan in place with agents who can show houses for me if I have to leave town. This is at my expense and not my client's expense and worked out between myself and that agent so that it is no detriment to my clients and their house viewing schedule or their pocketbooks.
Just aks her who will be showing you the houses while she is out of town. Good luck! - Mon Jun 16 2008, 12:48

When should someone get preapproved for a mortgage?

Courtney Cooper answered:
Thumbs up for your question, Rhonda! Getting preapproved is the very first step in my book! - Fri Jun 13 2008, 14:47
