Not only do you want to know current traffic, but I would suggest that you look at the long-term plans for road improvements, including plans to add additional lanes during the time you intend to own the property. The other thing to consider when purchasing home backing to a heavily traveled road, is to consider how close it is to a stop sign or stop light. Stop and go traffic can be even more noticeable than the constant "white noise" of passing traffic. The other thing to consider doing is being in the area on a weekend afternoon, to see how much high decibel motorcycle traffic you hear. - Sun May 11 2008, 14:48
