I got my real estate license in '79 when interest rates went from 12% to 22%. We never thought we'd see single digits in real estate loans again., so I think the current rates are manna from heaven. The first property I owned in Marin was a houseboat and I bought my first house here in the mid 80's. I love living in Marin for it's natural beauty and proximity to the greater outdoors as well as the city!

Sausalito to me has a very Mediterranean feel to it. I love the proximity to the water and the views from the hills, the greenery and the quiet. The restaurants are good, great supermarket, healthclub close by, biking path goes right through town and there are great hikes on the hills. The weather is a tad cooler than higher up in Marin County, which i like, and I can be in any restaurant in the city within 30 minutes. And here I don't have to lock my car nor my house. - Thu Jan 31 2008, 14:45
Sausalito doesn't have a reputation for being good for families mainly because it is largely hilly and the public schools don't have the best reputation. There are quite some smaller private schools moving in to take up that slack. I raised my son here and we both really enjoyed living in Sausalito! - Thu Jan 31 2008, 14:39
