I concur with everyone here and think that you will have the best luck in Palmer Ranch. I am getting to take a beautiful listing of a nicely upgraded condominium in Plaza de Flores (not a condo conversion) that has 2 bedrooms and a nice view. Price should be in the mid to high $100s. I have family that lives in this neighborhood and they love it. They were caught by the correcting prices in the market and have lost equity like everyone else in Sarasota. Yes you can. One area that no one has mentioned is Gulf Gate. Other than the fact that it is home to Gulf Gate elementary school, the Gulf Gate area is one the best kept secrets in Sarasota County. Quiet streets and friendly neighbors are plentiful, and the shcool districts are 2nd to none. I find that most buyers seem to have this perception of condominium fees in Sarasota until they realize what they actually cover. If you are moving from a home in New Jersey, you can leave the lawnmower behind, as well as some utiliity bills and your home insurnace agent.
