NOT AS YOUNG AS I LOOK
Like Mae West once said, "I've done a lot of places and been a lot of things" and if you live long enough, that does seem to be so.
After a long career in the arts as a printmaker and a college instructor, and as a journalist of hundreds of articles about everything from fertility clinics to housing during the Atlanta Olympics, it became evident that the arts, though somewhat glamorous, was not lucrative.
MARKETING CONSULTANT
It was an easy transition from freelance journalist to marketing consultant promoting entrepreneurs to corporations. Along the way, I co-authored a book called Insider's Guide to Metro-Atlanta which sold in bookstores worldwide.
During all of the above, I saved every penny possible and invested in real estate owning ultimately two twelve (12) unit apartment buildings, numerous duplexes and single family homes. These properties I managed myself and learned a lot about human nature.
REAL ESTATE
It was through real estate that I was able to achieve wealth. And it is that experience, lo these thirty years of buying and selling, that I share now. I've had the opportunity to work with wonderful people from young singles… to seniors who think young. These folks I now consider friends.
I've assisted in buying/selling property on Longboat Key up to Bent Tree, from South of Clark , to North of 75 and even as far as North Port. On a weekly basis I personally visit dozens of homes to keep aware of pricing vs. product and online on a daily basis I review listings and constantly work with my database of buyers and sellers worldwide to find what works for them financially….making dreams come true along the way.
INTELLIGENCE, CREATIVITY, ENERGY
All my clients will confirm that it is more a fact than a boast that working with me provides you with someone who uses intelligence and creativity, education and energy to help you achieve your real estate needs at this moment in time.
An Artist's creativity, a Marketing Consultant's savvy, and a Real Estate Investor's education (and yes, I have educated myself for you), these are the skills I bring to the table.
As your real estate pro I use no guess work, rather research and energy and the ability to work with a diverse group of folk handling negotiations, being creative throughout the process, and having an unfailing desire to make it happen for you be that a buying or selling process.

I'm Jewish as well and have bought in SW Florida in Sarasota. There are five different Jewish religious houses of worship: everything from Chabad, to Reform. I chose Sarasota, however, because of the cultural benefits such as symphony, ballet, excellent theater, a museum...and lots of intelligent folks who have moved here from everywhere in the world.
It is extremely lovely with lots of places with water views. I work on one of the barrier islands --on St. Armands Circle where the world passes my door and I have a chance to chat with them should I step outside my office. And we watch the sunsets from the beach daily.
It is a small place compared to some of the cities on the West Coast of Florida so getting around is easier. Folks are very friendly.
For $350,000 right now you can buy a huge home (3-4 bedrooms, 2-3 bathrooms). If you would like me to begin sending you examples, please send me your email or call me at 941-400-4660. - Tue Aug 26 2008, 06:15
Best thing of course is to hook up with an agent for your purchase not only for their legwork she will do for you with regard to these and all the other answers you will be seeking before buying anything, but for the legal, negotiations, inspections....that will follow once you find something.
In lieu of all that right now,
http://www.zillow.com has info, trulia has info, heraldtribune.com (our paper) has info for you. Northport city government and of course,
http://www.myflorida.com which will all sorts of data.
Short of that, it is really best to use the telephone and call some of the agents you are seeing come up in these pages on Trulia.

Most property is on the market, these days, for a minimum of 160 days. If you don't have an agent, your time on the market could be forever because you will need to market your home widely on the internet, internationally as well, newspaper ads too. Hopefully you ARE working with an agent.
Even so, market conditions are such that your place needs to be ideal to sell: clean, located well, priced below market, easy to show, maybe even incentives to showing agents. You have to have all the bells and whistles to get seen now. - Mon Jul 14 2008, 10:50
You really want to know who was the buyer's agent since that is the person who brought in the sale. Ask an agent, any agent, to come and make a sales presentation to you.....and to bring with them recent sales statistics. Then when you look at these you should be able to find out what company sold the properties. Or maybe even what agent sold.
Main thing is to pick an agent who has a company behind them that has huge representation on the internet since that is where everyone begins their search.
The other possibility is to go to the property appraisers office, or online, and search who paid the taxes on that condo. That will give you the name of sellers. Write to them and ask. - Fri Jul 11 2008, 15:17
Check with your condo documents, but I believe you can. In a condo I bought in Atlanta prior to moving to Fla. I sold the parking space as did many of the other owners. The space in Atlanta downtown location was work ten thousand dollars. We also could sell the storage bin space if we didn't want it. OR we could rent it out to others. Now that may be an option...rent the space, keep ownership. That way, as it increases in value, you can up the rent. But there again, have a legal document outlining the arrangements.
But don't guess at it, either turn the question over to an attorney or discuss with the manager of the complex....or read over your documents prior to making a mistake should they not permit such sales. - Wed Jul 9 2008, 07:19

Foreign Languages (I speak Italian, can make believe in French, Spanish) and say 'I Love You' in Hungarian!
And like I said in my profile, live long enough and you get to be a lot of things. So having been a college art professor in a former life, specializing in printmaking, I think I know a thing or two about Art History and the various media for making beautiful things. And as a writer my by-line appeared in hundreds of magazines and newspapers so because I've been paid to write, I think I can express my opinions on that career as well.
Obviously, multi-tasking is something I do well because many of these interests and careers were pursued concurrently: perfect skills for balancing many clients and real estate projects at one time.
