I think Gulf Gate is a great idea. I used to live there and still own a home there. It is conveniently located to shopping, Siesta Key beach, restaurants and entertainment. The homes are affordable, the neighborhood is clean and well taken care of. The only negatives that some may find is that the homes are older and most of them are 2 bedrooms. There are not a lot of 3 and 4 bedroom homes in Gulf Gate. If you are looking for a convenient neighborhood within a few minutes to the beach and under $300k this is a great spot to consider. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 06:49
Buyers are very apprehensive right now. People may love your home but obviously not enough to make an offer. I would suggest a price reduction. Most buyers are not jumping off the fence unless they feel a sense of value. They fear prices will continue to decline so most of them are waiting for a bottom. I would suggest Sarasota over Longboat Key for famlies with children. The island is made up primarily of retirees and snowbirds. There aren't an abundance of kids on the island. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 06:38
Most shopping is located in Sarasota which is within just a few minutes of Siesta Key. Westfield's Southgate mall and Sarasota Square Mall is with a short drive. If you want to shop on Siesta Key you can do so in the village or near the south end just south of Stickney Point road. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 06:36
