The downtown restaurants are fun and if you live close enough to walk to them it is even better. Fourth Street has lighted trees at night that lead the way to the main plaza where several restaurants with delicious food await. Being the center of Sonoma County's wine industry means that almost every restaurant has an excellent and extensive wine list. Great food. Great wine. The parks and recreational areas are a main attraction for Santa Rosa. Annadel State Park is literally at our back door providing miles of hiking, biking and horse trails year round. And for those with small kids, like me, the playgrounds around the city are great. Howarth Park is the crowning jewel with brand new play structures designed to foster kids' imaginations and sense of exploration. It also has a merry-go-round, train ride, pony rides and a snack bar in the summer. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
Local shopping is a treat. The farmers market is twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday mornings at the Veteran's Memorial. Additionally, there are several locally owned grocery stores specializing in top quality food as well as plenty of easily accessible large grocery chains. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
