Jodi Summers Bio

With more than $100,000,000 in listed inventory, Jodi Summers understands the coastal commercial real estate market. A top producer with Sotheby’s International Realty, Jodi knows finance, rules, regulations, procedures and methods. She is accurate, knowledgeable, timely and aware of how government shapes the cities of Southern California.

Jodi is born in Brooklyn, raised in and around Manhattan – the family business was marketing, Madison Avenue style. Childhood math quiz questions calculated demographic and psychographic percentages or analyzed the allocation of adverting dollars. Word games were for devising slogans.

An honors graduate from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, Jodi moved to California to achieve her goal of living by the beach with a palm tree and a hibiscus bush in her yard.

She thrived as an entrepreneur in the entertainment, media and marketing industries. She has three books in publication with Allworth Press - The Interactive Music Handbook, Making and Marketing Music and Moving Up In the Music Business. Making and Marketing Music is in second edition.

As buying her home was the best investment she ever made, Jodi moved into real estate.

I'm guessing you're talking about renting an apartment.
In Santa Monica, Initial lease term is generally one year, and then you go on month to month.
Rent increases are dictated by the City of Santa Monica in July, they go into effect into September. They never seem to equal the cost of living increase. (This year was 2.7%).
Prices are as variable as jobs, depending upon what you're leasing...one bedroom, two bedroom, three bedroom, etc. I believe the going rate for a 1-bedroom in Ocean Park is around $1,800 per month at the moment. - Sun Sep 21 2008, 07:21

Should I choose a local Realtor to represent me as buyer?

Santa Monica is nothing like Santa Clara. Go with a local realtor who understands the Santa Monica market conditions, and the City's unique laws. (Particularly if you're buying multiunits.

We've just lowered the price on our condo to $599k @ 428 Hill St.
Walking distance to the beach + Main St.
