Mark,
This property has been off the market since 5/26/2008 after having been on the market for 445 days. I can certainly contact the previous listing agent for you to see if they have any additional information and if not, get in contact with the owners.
Call or email me with your questions and I'll see what I can find out.
Thank you,
Sean Seckar

Jessica,
Congratulations on your decision to purchase your first home. During this exciting process, you will have many more questions so never feel you are asking too many.
My name is Sean Seckar and I am with RE/MAX of Santa Clarita, The Valley’s number 1 Real Estate company. We are #1 in SCV Residential Sales Year after Year!, #1 RE/MAX in California 10 Years in a Row! , #1 in Service! and #1 in Professionalism . I work with first time buyers on a daily basis so I truly understand the needs and concerns you are facing.
If you have not already done so, your first step is to speak to a lender. I can provide you with several Top Lenders here in Santa Clarita that will find you the loan that best fits your needs. Once you have selected the loan program that best fits your financial needs, we will work together on a daily basis to find your new home. I will be with you from start to finish and beyond.
There will be numerous responses to your posting and one thing every good Realtor should advise is to speak to several Realtors before making your selection. Ask questions. Ask for references. Find out what they will do for you. Only then should you decide who should represent you.
When that time comes, I hope you give me the opportunity to show you what I will do to get you into your new home
Sincerely,
Sean Seckar

Every buyer will have a different story on how long it took to find a home so there is not one answer to your question. It depends on the area, inventory, buyers needs in a property, financing and even the Realtor. If you are looking for a 4 bedroom property but only want to pay what a 2 bedroom property is selling for, it will take you much longer than the person looking for a 2 bedroom in the same price range. A good Realtor should be able to tell you up front if what you are looking for is realistic or not. The less realistic, the longer the search. Throw into the mix the length of time it takes to get a response from the bank and you can be looking at an additional 90–120 days in many cases. Your best course of action is to have your financing lined up prior to looking, interview several Realtors and be realistic. There may be a surplus of bank owned homes and shortpays but the banks are not giving them away. Homes will still sell at a fair market value in most areas.
Best of luck on your home search. - Fri Oct 17 2008, 22:08
Dusty,
In Valencia you would have “Westridge” with beautiful custom and tract homes on or near the TPC golf course, “The Woodlands”, specifically “Presidio” and “Garland”, Lake front homes on “The Island” in Bridgeport as well as “Tesoro Del Valle” and some older areas such as “Windemere” in the Summit.
Stevenson Ranch has a number or areas including Southern Oaks. Hasley Canyon in Castaic, Custom Homes throughout Newhall including Peachland Estates, Hillside homes in Bella Vista Estates and Placerita Canyon for horse property. Custom homes throughout Sand Canyon and Robinson Ranch would be the area of interest in Canyon Country
All in all, there are numerous areas of Santa Clarita that would fit most all lifestyles of the Luxury Home buyer.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance
