If you could swing a SFR, you would save a lot in HOA fees and will see a greater appreciation in the future. Single Family Residences include land and land is real esate, condos are more of an opinion of value. When the market goes up people will buy houses until the market pushes them out, then they have to settle with neighbors above, below and next to them.... visit my website to find homes in Chula Vista starting at $199k. 95% (buyer's price opinion) is a nice place to start, but by no means is that always the case. Many times, banks have to accept much less. The short sale process saves banks 10's of thousands of dollar and if the negotiation is done correctly, the banks will take a strong offer... and that is relative. - Tue Jul 1 2008, 23:36
