I perform at the highest level of integrity and I believe that giving the best service is very important.

I also enjoy my role as a mother of 3 beautiful girls. In my spare time I enjoy sports, cheering on my daughters in their sports, traveling, camping, and of course looking at houses.

Do you know if the home is currently listed? I tried to find it on our local mls and it did not show up with that address. Is the home a for sale by owner?

Looking to move to the Salt Lake City area.

Tricia Vanderkooi answered:
Carmen,
Most people who move to Utah that have never been here before are amazed at how beautiful it is. Having worked with lots of relocation buyers I assure you this is not something to take lightly. I would suggest you start looking online at some homes and figure out what price range suits you the best. Then I think you would benefit to making a trip to Utah and have an experienced agent give you a tour. There are some areas that you may like more than others, but you need to come and figure out which ones those might be for you. Everyone is different and there are always things you cannot see in neighborhoods online. Once you are here your can truly absorb the area better and you may need to consider commute times to your job that may ifluence where you are willing to purchase. Whatever you do consider hiring a full time real estate agent to help make the process less onverwhelming. - Tue Apr 22 2008, 10:00

The best thing you can do in the buying process is to find a full time, serious real estate professional. It sounds to me like he is neither one of these. You may want to contact his broker to get more of the story and don't be afraid to tell the broker what has happended to you. It is possible the broker may have a good explanation for this agent, or the broker will be able to place your file with a different agent that will serve you better. - Tue Apr 22 2008, 09:45

How can I negotiate a lower price?

Tricia Vanderkooi answered:
It is indeed a buyers market in most parts of the country. The first thing you as a buyer need to be willing to do is to walk away from a deal. This is sometimes hard to do if you get emotionally involved in a home. However you will have a different perspective on the negotiating process. Have your agent show you several homes in the area where you want to live. Once you find one you are willing to write an offer on have your agent present the offer along with a copy of all the other possibilities you are considering. This will usually let the sellers know that you are serious in finding the best deal you can and that you have more than one home that would suit your needs. Good Luck. - Tue Apr 22 2008, 09:39
