I live in Soulard in a home built in 1867, having grown up in St. Louis and being very active in the community almost all my life, I know and undertand the St. Louis Housing Market and Neighborhoods, from the Red Hot Loft District to those cute art's and crafts and everything in between. My clients are always first with me, not just a number, I have received several letters from past clients for outstanding customer service including receiving a award From Gordon Gundaker in November 05 for Outstanding Customer Service. I was on active duty in the US Navy from 1980-84 on board the USS Coral Sea, seeing over 40 counties during this time, 1976 Eagle Scout. I work with buyers and sellers.

For one thing, don't go by what the news media prints, the best way is to get out into the area you like to live, depending on the area you can find some very nice homes in a great area, I live and market in the city, so I understand the all the neighborhoods in the city and where to get the data you are requesting. In the city 63109 or St. Joan Arc is a very good neighborhood with a some neighborhood association, strong community feel, my office is located right there, St. Louis Hills, Southhampton and NorthHampton there are some great deals right now, "Your True City Realtor" Living and Working in the City, Oh I own and live in Soulard. - Sat Apr 26 2008, 07:10
Hi, 99% of my business is in the city of St. Louis, there are some great deals (foreclosures) in South City right now, some nice short sales also, the loft market is also good. Since I live in the City I understand the city market and which areas are better for rental income, alot of agents in my office including myself own rental homes-condo's in the city, you just got to know the area, can't go by the news media on the city market. - Sat Apr 26 2008, 07:05
I would suggest interviewing more than one agent, since some agents only work certain parts of the city and or don't even live in the city, there are so many good neighborhoods in the city, all with different types of housing. Pick a agent that has the knowledge to work for you in any neighborhood in the City. Good Luck, or try the City of St. Louis Web site and look for agents that are registered with the city. - Sat Mar 22 2008, 10:35
Your realtor can pull old listings, or if you can you can go into the city tax base and see for yourself what the last sale recorded was, in Missouri this is public record - Sat Mar 22 2008, 10:30

The enitire City of St. Louis Housing Market, 99% of my business in done within the city, so I understand what is needed and what is required when buying or selling a home in the city. Homes in the city are older than the frame homes elsewhere, when buying and selling in the city, you need to know and understand the building designs and issues with city built homes, but more of the benefits of city homes and city living.
