Hi Peyton,

Wendy is correct. Most lenders are requiring a 620 minimum score in order to qualify. There might be a handful that will go down to perhaps 580. The guidelines have definitely become more stringent. Your first step is working with a loan officer to go over your credit report with you and determine what you can work on in order to get your score up. Then they can also be exploring what your options are for financing. It's really hard to speak unless truly looking at your credit report so general information/advice is all we can give here. Then hope that they will extend this program for first time home buyers.
Have a great day
