Why Cricket?
Experience, Service and Accountability
Take a look at my professional designation. I choose the title “Real Estate Consultant” purposely. I consider myself more than just a Realtor® who shows properties and writes contracts. I work full time in this ever changing and often fast paced marketplace, keeping my ear to the ground and nose to the grindstone so that I can stay on top of market trends, pricing and financing strategies. I consider it my responsibility to inform, guide and be a resource for my clients as they go through the home buying and selling process.
About Me
My professional life started in Boston in the athletic footwear industry. My first position after of college was with Hyde Athletic Industries where I was the Assistant Import/Export Manager. I then moved on to Converse Inc. where I held the position of International Operations Administrator. In both these positions I coordinated the order placement and production of international distributor purchases between the parent company and factories. It was a continual juggling act as the international markets are always on a different timeline and style cycle than the United States domestic market. Everything, yes everything, was different from order sizing, colors, fabrics, payment terms and shipping times and I was the sprocket that kept the wheel turning. What the parent company had entire departments for – purchasing, receiving, customer service, and accounting – for the domestic market; the international distributors had ME for! I embraced the many challenges and variety of people and places I dealt with every day.
I use those same skills of juggling timelines, personalities, varying projects and objectives today in my real estate business.
Two wonderful kids later, a move to Portland in 1995, a few years of life as full time mom, and all of a sudden it is 2002. Itching to start working again, I joined a small West Linn company where I obtained my Real Estate AND Mortgage License. Small company means a short supply of support staff, so I learned – by doing – every aspect of the real estate and mortgage business. No job was too small.
In September of 2007 I joined Keller Williams Realty®. The company’s continuing education programs, national exposure and culture of brokers supporting fellow brokers fit perfectly with my desire to learn, build my business and work with clients and fellow realtors in an ethical manner. I recently made the decision to concentrate solely on my Real Estate Clients, however, my lending experience has been and will continues to be invaluable asset to real estate clients as I can be a resource in understanding that often complicated side of home buying.
I look forward to a future full of opening new doors all over Portland!

I can’t believe we wasted 2 months trying to sell our house ourselves. Cricket Forsey sold our house in 2 months after listing it with her in a really tough market for a great price!
She gave us great advice about how to improve the appeal of our home for buyers.
And she kept us in the loop with feedback from brokers and buyers who had seen the house.
We really appreciate Cricket’s tenacity in holding open houses and “broker’s open houses” in order to get the word out about our home. It obviously paid off.
We got multiple offers on our house and Cricket was very professional and really went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable with the deal. She negotiated with the buyers and surely got us more money than we thought we would have.
Thanks Cricket!"

"Dear Cricket,
With the small timeframe I had to relocate to Ohio after our closing, I wanted to properly thank you for all your hard work in getting my home sold. Your knowledge of the area and recommendations regarding home selling strategies was certainly instrumental in receiving an offer after only one week on the market.
As you know, I had a number of personal friends and business acquaintenances aggressively pursuing my listing, but in the end I chose you based upon your work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile for your customers. In the end, I trusted you would give me an “honest” answer.
Feel free to offer me as a reference to potential clients as I would be willing to share with them how pleased I was with your effort and service."

Kitchen should be your number 1 investment. Natural surfaces is always best bet. Try some new knobs on cabinets for an inexpensive but great bang for your buck.
How do your carpets look? Especially in front entry. If they are old and dirty - those would be my next recommendation.
Next would be bathrooms. - don't worry about Jacuzzi Tub. There are some nice flooring options that look like tile - but aren't so hard on the budget. Light fixtures are inexpensive but go a long way in updating.
Here is a great tip! Go visit an open house for new construction. See what they are using in finishes -- bring your camera and take pictures.

Hi Aimee,
If nothing else - a realtor has to be flexible and able to adjust to their clients needs in a flash. As a first time homebuyer - it would be a GREAT idea to have family members or friends come along to help give advice and point out aspects of homes that she might not notice. She was not out of line inviting you to tag along.
Realtors are people and we all have different personalities - thats what makes the world go around! Some are more flexible than others. Time for a new broker that meets your sisters style and expectations.
If she is looking for someone new - give me a call!

Hi Andrew,
When it comes down to deciding upon a listing price it takes some real work. You and your agent need to take a long careful look at what active, pending and solds. Then compare those properties to your own home. Pay attention to size (price/ sq.ft), condition (have there been upgrades or is there deferred maintaince on the property) and location (quiet street vs. busy corner) because these issues add or subtract value to a property. It may help to go take a look at the properties you are comparing yours to - especially those that have sold. If you can't get inside take a drive by and check them out that way. You can only see so much from pictures on the internet. I would also suggest you tour some open houses in your neighborhood this weekend.
It is a very competitive market for selling homes today. The listing price is crucial because there are fewer buyers than homes for sale and you want to make sure those buyers don't skip past your home because your aren't price competitively.
