You can sell your home for less than you owe, however there are a lot of varibles to this process, normally the best situation for this route is to prove to the lender hardship, with the proper documentation the lender can approve a short sale. Contact a Real Estate professional in your market area that works with these types of properties they will be the most knowledgeable to answer your ?'s and explain the process to you. - Thu May 22 2008, 12:07
There are draw backs and benefits to every type of Real Estate transactions, The best thing to do is find a Real Estate Professional you feel comfortable with and one who know there market area well, REO properties (foreclosured properties) can be a great buy unlike Short Sales that take 60 to 90 minium to negociate, Foreclosed properties are owned mostly by the bank, they can respond to offers in 3 to 4 days and close as normal. FSBO I am a firm believer why pay for a service if you have the knowledge and experiance yourself, however that is not always the case in FSBO's do make sure you have good representation. - Thu May 22 2008, 12:02
