Thank you for asking the question on where to move and to get the best value for your money. I am sure many of the other realtors have given you sound advice. I usually like to draw a radius around how far out I want to be from work. So if you are looking at being 5 miles out it may limit your choices, if you are going to be 10 miles away it will give you more choices, and if you are willing to be 20 miles away then it will give you a multitude of choices. Depending on your price range it will also have a bearing on where you can afford to live as well. So if you are looking at the north Dallas area prices can range from around 150,000 to over a million. Big spread isn't it? Now if you are looking for new construction this will also limit your choices as well since many of the cities are already pretty well built out and so you will need to consider pre-owned homes in those areas. If you decide to live in Addison area you may be looking at the 200k range for a home but you will be close to lots of night life. If you choose Plano on the west side you may be looking again at 180,000 to over 200k + for a nice home. I really like the Allen area since you can find very nice homes there at reasonable prices and be close to nice restaurants, major shopping, and great schools. You are also very close to Plano, Frisco, and other cities nearby. I would need to speak to you a little more about your price range and that would give me more to go on as well as help you pick out an area that will meet your other needs as well.
