I am a real estate agent for Hawley, Honesdale, Lake Wallenpaupack, Greentown, Greeley, Lackawaxen, Dingmans Ferry, Tafton, Hamlin, and Lake Ariel. I work in most of Pike and Wayne County in Northeastern PA.
Many of the homes I sell are in communities like Masthope, The Hideout, Hemlock Farms, Wallenpaupack Lake Estates, Woodland Hills, Tanglwood, Paupackan Lake Estates, and other developments in the area.
Working with WEICHERT, REALTORS - Paupack Group is exciting. We are busy helping sellers and buyers both meet their needs with professionalism and courtesy.

"Karen was more than patient with my wife and i as we looked for a home in the Poconos. We looked at many homes but karen found the home we were looking for. you could not find an agent that will work harder to find what you are looking for than Karen. she works with you from start to finish, and them even keeps in touch with you after the closing, now that’s a great agent. would recommend karen to anybody looking to buy a home in this area."

"Karen was very patient as my wife and I looked for our Pocono lake retreat. AT first we weren’t even sure we would actually go through with it. Of greater importance was that after spending a few hours with me, Karen seemed to know exactly what I was looking for, and then found it! She gave us good advice along the way and there were absolutely no surprises at closing. I have already recommended her to one friend and will continue to pass her name along to interested friends and family."

Unless you are planning to stay in the area for only a short time, it is usually a better idea to buy than to rent. When you are renting (paying 800-1100 per month on average), you are building up your landlord's equity but not building anything on your own. Of course, you are not stuck with home maintenance costs and taxes, so there is a trade off.
In my professional opinion, it is better to buy and begin building equity in your own home; and you also have the advantage of the mortgage interest being a tax deduction. - Sun Sep 30 2007, 22:41
Jamie, Pike County is a rather large area. "Land" is a very general term. Do you have land to sell, or are you looking to buy? How much? Where is it? Is it acreage, or a lot in a development? Is it improved (i.e, with a well & septic, or perc test, etc.)
Your question is similar to asking a butcher what the going price for beef is...*smile* - Sun Sep 30 2007, 22:37
