What advice would you give to a buyer about to relocate to your area?

Leah Asdell answered:
The first thing I would consider is where your job is going to be if that is a factor for you. That would be my starting place to start looking at what there is to offer around that area. If your job is not bringing you here, I would do a little research on my own to see what interests me about the area and what would be important for me while living here. Talk with a few REALTORS to see who would best suit your needs and that you enjoy being around. There are so many options available and many great places around the valley to choose from that I would start with the must haves on your list to help you pick a general area and then narrow it down from there. - Fri Jul 6 2007, 10:21

Where are the best places to buy in Phoenix for a young family?

Leah Asdell answered:
Hi Heather,
There are many great areas in the Phoenix area to buy. There are quite a few master planned communites that have the school in the neighborhood along with parks for the kids all within walking distance. There are so many things to do in the valley that being close to a freeway is a great way to get the best of all worlds. Fortunately there are lots of new freeways in the Southeast valley where you can get a home that is priced well and be able to go where you would like to fairly quickly. Many of the communities also have movies, restaurants, and shopping close as well so you never have to go to far for what you would like to do. Feel free to contact me with any furthur questions. Good luck! - Fri Jul 6 2007, 09:58
Leah Asdell answered:
Hi Atom,
Scorpions are most often seen when you live at the base of the mountains and also you might see them in new construction areas. They are probably not going to be an issue at Gilbert and Pecos although we do live in the desert and no area is guaranteed to be scorpion free. The best thing to do is have a great pest control service and that should pretty much eliminate any pests that you may have. - Fri Jul 6 2007, 09:48

When and best area to buy in AZ?

Leah Asdell answered:
There are some great areas in the southeast valley like Chandler and Gilbert. It is definitely a buyer's market right now so there are many great opportunities. There are also quite a few excellent schools districts on this side of the valley and you have great freeway access that will take you anywhere you need to go. Since you aren't under a specific timeframe that you need to move, I would take a little time to find the right person to work with and also look around to decide which area is most desirable for you and your family. There are many great amenities all over the valley and the age of your children may dictate a little where you would like to be. It is a great time to buy here and there are many options available to you. - Fri Jul 6 2007, 09:40
