About Me
When I was growing up in Petaluma, this charming little town was still referred to as the Chicken Capital of the World. I went to Cinnabar Elementary, then on to what used to be the old Kenilworth Junior High and later graduated from Casa Grande High School. Everyone knew each other by their first name and you were always greeted with a “hello” when passing others by on the street. I enjoy the small-town charm this city still has and am happy to call Petaluma home. When we got married, my husband and I decided to buy our first home but we sadly realized that we could not afford to buy a home in Petaluma. Home prices were climbing and there was not a single family home to be found for us first-time home buyers. We looked at a map and realized the closest city we could afford to buy in was Vallejo, where home prices were still reasonable. We pulled up our bootstraps and bought our first home where we put everything we had into that little house. Thanks to a good deal of sweat equity and a great deal of real estate appreciation, we were able to sell our first “starter” home and move into a larger home. A few years later, after our son was born, we realized that we had to be close to our family in Sonoma County where we both grew up. We sold our big home in Vallejo and moved back to our old neighborhood here in Petaluma. This is where we started and we are here to stay! I know first hand that your home is your most valuable asset and it is so important that you love where you live. Whether you are buying your first home or want to spread your wings in a larger home, your priorities and needs come first with me. With the kind of know-how that comes from over a decade of marketing and sales experience, I will negotiate expertly in your best interest. To me, it's about experience, commitment, hard work, enthusiasm, integrity and results. I am thrilled to be a part of the Frank Howard Allen team here in Petaluma and look forward to helping you find your dream home.

Jennifer Taylor answered:
I have lived in this city most of my life - my parents grew up here and my grand-parents spent more than half their lives here in Petaluma as well. I have seen many changes in this charming little city with growth and opportunity. There are no 'bad' neighborhoods here really, there are the areas that are mostly rentals and then there are the areas that are mostly owner occupied. In historic downtown Petaluma you can find many victorian homes and California-style bungalows. However, most if the city is basic suburban homes with farms and ranches on the outskirts of town. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51

Is Petaluma good for families with children?

Jennifer Taylor answered:
This city is perfect for families with children of all ages because of the selection of schools, parks and recreation facilities. The majority of people who live here have children and they moved here because it is a growing city but with a small-town feel. It is still affordable to live in the Bay Area where Petaluma is the ideal spot between San Francisco and the wine country. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
Jennifer Taylor answered:
Petaluma started out as a small little chicken town north of the Golden Gate. For many years it was just a small town where everyone knew eachother by name. Now, the city of Petaluma is much larger because it is still affordable and still has that small-town feel. Because of that, many local artists, antique collectors and entrepreneurs have set up shop here in town. From the outlet mall and the large grocery stores to the quaint restaurants, specialty food stores and unique shops in historic downtown Petaluma, this little town has grown into a wonderful place to live, raise a family and retire offering something for everyone. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51

How are the parks and recreational areas in Petaluma?

Jennifer Taylor answered:
There are dozens of parks, jogging trails, dog runs and play areas for children in Petaluma. Whether it is hiking trails at Helen Putnam Park, the history of the Petaluma Adobe, the fun at the Skate Park or letting the dogs run free in a dog run, there is plenty of room to roam for families of all kinds. The city also offers many recreation centers on both the East and West sides of towns with a selection of community classes and events from toddlers to seniors. - Mon Apr 23 2007, 15:51
