Congratulations on your decision to purchase a home. Timing is great. You have for purchases from January 1, 2009 thru December 1st, 2009 a tax credit of $8,000 that does not have to be repaid - as the previous $7,500 - if you own your property for at least 3 years. For more information go to:

As to the associations, you may be better off looking into homeowner's association rather than condo associations. Preferable a fee simple, where you buy your own insurance and the maintenance fees because of it are lower. Have you thought of buying a single family in these same areas?
