Below is a link to a NY Times article with a "Buy vs. Rent" calculator, which should be helpful. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/10/business/2007_BUYRENT_GRAP…
I'll be happy to help you with any more information that may be helpful in your decision making. nycHero1@gmail.com - Tue Jan 8 2008, 17:41

You do need to speak with a good Mortgage specialist. If you have a good relationship with a bank in the UK, speak with your bank manager there and see if you can get them to connect you with someone specific at their NYC location. You'll need letters of reference from your bank manager and your employer, etc. I'll be happy to help if I can. I used to do relocations the other way - US to UK - and I lived in London for several years. HeroRealty@gmail.com. - Tue Jan 8 2008, 14:37

Get a good real estate attorney to advise you, get some good photographs taken and advertise here and on the NY Times real estate website. Hold open houses every Sunday between noon and 4pm (any 2 hours within) and just make sure you keep in close contact with your attorney. I'll be happy to refer a good attorney to you and give you tips if you like. HeroRealty@gmail.com - Tue Jan 8 2008, 14:24
