About Me
I am a realtor with Windermere Utah in Park City Utah. Windermere has over 8000 agents in 400 offices in 10 Western States and British Columbia, Canada. We pride ourselves as the best real estate company in the industry,as our work is not about houses, but about people.
I grew up in Southern California, graduated from San Diego State University in marketing, and worked in the airline industry for 30 years. I lived in Hawaii for 7 years before moving to Park City in 1983. I have been buying and selling real estate in all areas of Park City for the past twenty five years now. I work primarily in the residential market of Park City, Deer Valley, and the Canyons Resort, all of Summit and Wasatch Counties of Utah. I specialize in single family and condos for the primary, second home buyers and sellers in this resort community. Park City STILL has the best priced real estate of all the ski resort properties in the WEST! Living and working in Park City is a lifestyle that we have grown to appreciate. I love to share my enthusiasm that I have for this piece of paradise. For more detailed information, you can reach me on my web site, http://mountainskihome.com or by email at dave@windermere.com

Charle, you must own the house next to mine in Vegas! I also bought a house 4 years ago,and saw appreciation go to $300K as well, but even though the prices have come down again, the rents have increased since I first leased out my house. Management companies are competitive , and some charge as little as 5% of gross rents if you want to hang on to the house. My rental house is now getting more rental income than I had 4 years ago, and there is a ton of homes for sale, but not everyone can still qualify for the homes that are on the market. Texas property taxes are higher than they are in Nevada, so you need to look at all those numbers more carefully if you are looking to relocate. If you sell the house in Vegas you could still wait some time. I am holding mine for a couple of years longer now myself. Good Luck. I would like to hear how it turns out. - Wed Mar 12 2008, 14:09

Based on our local MLS figures, there is a range of lots at Promontory from .37ac to 1.9 ac that are active on the market from $349k to $2.19M. and there have been closed sales from $367k to $949k since June of 2007. For the year end of 2007 Park City Board of Realtors reported sales close to $2billion which is very close to the same year end figures for 2006. So in answer to your question, I would say that the Park City market in general will continue to be strong in 2008. I am ready for it. As a ski town realtor in Park City, I would never think of trying to sell my vacation home in a city that I do not have an agent. I ,first would network my referrals within Windermere, and if we do not have an office in that city, I would use our relocation expert that has contacts with agents anywhere in the world. I took a client to Mesquite, Nevada just 2 weeks ago, and did not have an agent. I now have a data base of agents that I can now work with all over Mesquite that I have personally met, that could give me a referral for a client looking for property in Park City, UTAH. We are in the referral business! That is the beauty of this business, plus I like referral fees just the same :) - Thu Feb 28 2008, 07:06

Cinda, I also own vacation rentals in the Park City area, and now that the season is getting heated up for spring ,buyers are waiting for the ski season to wind down, to view the market for some of the best income nightly rentals that we have had in years! Park City still has some of the best priced condos for a second home or nightly rental in any ski resort in the West .
