About Me
Long time resident of this area and long time Realtor. Associate Salesman with Century 21. I have intimate knowledge of Paris and the NE Texas area, especially adept at farm and ranch specialties. This is a place where people can retire with much more home and land than anywhere else in the country for the buck. Costs are low and space is plentiful. This is an area of Texas most people just cannot believe exists. Tall trees and open valleys, Farm land and great little communities full of wonderful people. Good place to raise children or retire and fish a little or garden a lot. Come see Paris Texas and the surrounding counties. You'll be glad you did.

where is the reservoir going around paris?

Mike E Russell answered:
There are no new lakes planned in Lamar County (around Paris) anytime in the near future. Paris owns Lake Pat Mayse, several thousand acres, in the north part of the county and is looking at potential for selling some water to other cities. It is a great recreation area with campsites and boat ramps maintained by the US Corps of Engineers. Long term, there may someday be a lake SE of Paris - now called Marvin Nichols after the engineering firm bearing his name who did preliminary work on the site. The lake is projected to be 60,000 acres, one of the largest -if not the largest - in Texas. Building such a lake, however, would take a very long time to overcome many obstacles. The Dallas/Ft. Worth area cities would be the providers of funds and primary users with a portion allocated for local communities. - Fri Apr 18 2008, 14:09

With a repossesion on record you'll need to rent for a few years. Sorry, but most lenders today cannot finance with recent activity like that. - Fri Apr 18 2008, 13:58

My advice is to contact a local Realtor who has lived in the area you are considering. While some areas are higher in crime than others, there aren't any without some crime stats. Paris is not a city with much crime. I think we had an armed robbery - maybe one in the past ten years. Pretty good, huh? - Fri Apr 18 2008, 13:55
