Hi Jilka,

Give me a call and I'd be more than happy to chat with you about rentals. 650-331-9088.

Also, http://www.bayarearentals.com is a great site, but craigslist is the best.

Thanks,

Hi RHP,

Yes, I agree with a few of the other Realtors that you rent for a while to get accustomed to the area. I co-author the Silicon Valley Real Estate blog and there's a great 'Silicon Valley Home Buyer's Book' (and it's free) that many of my relocation clients have found very useful.

You can find us at http://www.1SiliconValley.com. Any other questions, feel free to send me an email at info@AlexWangHomes.com or call me at 650-384-0676. - Mon May 26 2008, 11:11

Is $650k-$680k a reasonable/realistic price for a?

Alex H. Wang answered:
Hi Chan,

Sorry, my apologies. I thought that you already had a place in mind. Give me a call and we can discuss more detail in person or over the phone. I do speak Mandarin Chinese as well.

Regards,

Alex

What development are we talking about? This will help me give a better answer to your question. - Fri May 9 2008, 10:02

why was this property selling for half the market price?

Alex H. Wang answered:
Sold for $1.3+ end of 2007. No change of ownership in 2008. May have been the transferring of assets in/out of a trust. Regardless, it didn't sell for $662K. County title records are a great reference (Zillow and Trulia) but they are not always accurate in determining value. - Mon May 5 2008, 23:01

How does down payment assistance programs work?

Alex H. Wang answered:
Yes, as Linda recommended, definitely talk with a lender. There are some downpayment assistant programs that have "equity share" stipulations and you'll want to make sure you understand what you are getting yourself into before you start looking. - Mon May 5 2008, 00:07
