I moved to the desert area in 1998 and began my real estate career. I had been an optician for 25 years, owning my own shop and helping people choose frames for thier glasses. The transition to helping you find a home has been exciting. There are so many beautiful places to live here that I have had to find out a little about all of them. So If you are looking for an agent to help you, give me a call.

The buyers market that we have now will probably continue for awhile in most markets. It depends on where you are looking and the area you want to live in. Check with a professional real estate agent,. Find the area that you would want to buy in and see how that particular market is doing. If all you do is listen/read the general news, the market maychange before you (and the media) know about it. Great oppoutunities right now because many areas are already seeing prices at or below 2004 prices.

Why would you want to do that? The Seller normally pays any fees for the Realtor who lists the home and that fee is split with the realtor who brings in the buyer (you). Unless you know exactly where you want to buy, what the comparable prices are in that location; and many so other factors involved in buying a home you would be wise to find a realtor that you feel comfortable with to help you make this important decision. - Wed Apr 9 2008, 08:26
The market for rentals in Indio is good. Have your realtor check out the neighborhood for you. There is a great variety of properties from brand new neighborhoods to some of the oldest in the valley. Some great golf course homes available too if that is your interest. Indio is known as the City of Festivals. - Wed Apr 2 2008, 04:44
HOA's can vary, most are controlled by volunteers of the community. When the community members care and offer to help either by supporting or working on the various committees you have good results. That is not always the case. So check around before buying, you are given the financials, minutes of previous meetings etc. - Wed Apr 2 2008, 04:37
I have lived and worked in this area for 10 years and yes there are lower priced homes in Desert Hot Springs. I sold a view lot up there that was never built on by the buyer. A friend of mine wanted to buy up there I found her a home, she became active in the city affairs, gave up and moved on. So my advise would be to look carefully at the lifestyle offered to see if it is a fit for you. - Wed Apr 2 2008, 04:28
