Appliance dispute

You say you BID on a home ~ most auction purchases are AS IS & have little recourse for the buyer but if the home was listed on a licensed real estate service, like MLS, the appliances should have been detailed therein. I always use an addendum for appliances in question, usually washers & dryers, sometimes ceiling fans or water treatment systems, and also specify in the contract. This was helpful on a closing when the washer became an item of dispute & we were able to show that we specified in the addendum that it was a "repair" issue as well ~ my buyers got their washer repaired by the sellers and were VERY grateful that i had made the point. - Fri Nov 14 2008, 11:11

Judging from the prior sales amounts, i would say this is either a typo or a monthly rental amount? It appears that an owner has tried to post a property & then failed to provide interested parties the information they need to weed out the most viable ones ~ as a licensed professional, Trulia requires me to post the most specific and accurate info on my listings ~ this is proof that self-motivated owners take on as much or as little of the task as they see fit.

I find myself in awe of people who are just entering the business today because of all the negative press & public scrutiny, but it seems to be a nice option for some. You've gotten a lot of advice, so i will keep it simple.
Do you like people? Are you comfortable making friends from strangers? Are you self-disciplined? Can you set goals and meet or exceed them? Are you patient & do you have a fallback or safety for the time it will take to bring home that first closing? Answer YES to any of the above & you will make the others work for you. Answer NO to any of the above & you will find yourself frustrated & unhappy all too quickly. Definitely research the firms in your area. Ours offers a Career Development Institute & continuous educational & networking opportunities. Or, you might prefer a small, intimate boutique brokerage with more hands-on mentoring from a broker.
