There are desirable and not-so-desirable neighborhoods in any district. I've been a nomad of the Bay Area all my life, from Solano County, Napa County, Contra Costa County, Alameda County, San Francisco County, living and working. I finally settled in Concord, with a child in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District and then Diablo Valley College. We were hands-on parent volunteers. Concord overall is a wonderful community. Do the research, check out schools. I have family in Clayton, and my niece attends a local private school. Weigh your priorities, your budget, and your requirements. Where will you work? What will be your transportation? There can be heavy traffic during commute hours on certain roadways during certain seasons. After a while, you learn the patterns. How long do you plan to live in the home? What will your needs be in the next five or more years? I would be happy to show you the area. There is so much to offer, it would be a pleasure. The previous professionals offer great information. I am a referral associate and no longer in sales, so I can be objective; then you can look more closely at the micro-community homes within your budget with a sales professional. As a Concord resident, I welcome you to the community. - Fri Aug 29 2008, 20:40
