This is no secret. Most economist Gurus have now agreed that the U.S. national and local housing prices will fall through 2008 and will not begin to rise again until next year. Housing prices nationwide could drop circa 7.9 percent this year and 3.3 percent in 2009.
It is, indeed, much more difficult to get a loan and that is weighing on the market. I do, however, have buyers and I meet with lots of well, qualified, ready-to-buy buyers every day. Because forecasts are often difficult to get right, I am keeping my fingers crossed on previously forecasted turnaround for late 2008. Nevertheless, forecasting is just that, forecasting.
Those sellers that must sell will have to adjust when the time comes – the others will remain at ease.
