Of course, there are plenty of kids living in Lakewood. It's not a retirement communty. Lakewood has some very nice and some not so nice neighborhoods. I would concentrate on the neighborhoods with the highest ranking schools. Here is a website that lets you compare Washington State schools: http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/
