It depends on the situation, please keep in mind that you are dealing with someone that has just lost their home and this can become a dangerous situation. If you have a a disgruntled previous owner you may want to enlist the services of a real estate lawyer. If you feel that this is a peaceful situation then a real estate agent will suffice. Either way, evicting someone is a legal process and must be approached the same way whether it be an agent or a lawyer. - Wed Jul 30 2008, 11:34

Why are so few realtors participating in realtor open houses?

Hi John,

We specialize in real estate in Ocala Florida and our board utilizes what we refer to as a "caravan". Every Wednesday morning our board holds a marketing session for all the brokers and agents in the Association to present their listings. It is our office policy to place our new listings on the caravan. We are required to notify the board prior to the caravan so they can prepare a spreadsheet of all the featured properties and send them to all the brokers in the county. I know this is not an actual tour, but it is very effective! I am sure other boards around the country utlilize a caravan type program as well.

Please keep in mind that our profession's technology has evolved tremendously over the past few years. We can now mass email all the agents in our area and also post bulletins on the MLS for everyone to see. We do our best to get our listings in front of buyers and agents alike!

Bert has served as the President of the MLS and currently serves as President-Elect for the Realtor Association. Sherri has been an incredibly active member of the Women's Council of Realtors and served as the President of the Florida State chapter in 2007. Sherri is a recent graduate of the National Association of Realtors Leadership Academy. Bert and Sherri were awarded the Distinguished Member Service Award for the Ocala Marion County Association of Realtors in 2006. This was the first time that it was given to two people in the history of the award. Bert and Sherri have also earned several Realtor designations to increase their real estate knowledge and serve you better.
