For many years, Marco Island was dead quiet during the summer months, but with many homes that are rented out as vacation homes, they are a popular choice for summer vacations for families. Summer is a great time to enjoy the Island, after having lived there for over 6 years, I can tell you that the Summers are a great time. Especially in the restaurant businesses. Marco Island is a single zipcode, 34145 (34146 is post office boxes) lived there for 6 years and it is really paradise when you cross over the bridge. Many fall in love easily with Marco Island. Homes vary in that they can be inland, water direct and water indirect (meaning you have to go under a bridge to get to the Gulf of Mexico or the Marco River. - Mon Apr 21 2008, 20:40
