Simon Bailey, Home Buyer in Providence

Have just seen a 2 storey 2000sq ft detached house in Massachusetts which is clad with asbestos panels.

Hi Simon,

You should call the Seekonk town hall and ask for the building inspector. I'm not sure about Seekonk rules, but in Attleboro and North Attleboro you can side OVER the asbestos siding. This may change in the future, but is currently the ruling. I know in RI you must remove it, but here in Mass each town/city has their own rules. I know this because I sold a couple of houses with asbestos siding and checked with the building inspectors.
