How can i find "average market time" for a community, or town??? IS there a tool in trulia to do so???

There is no completely accurate way to do this, without doing a lot of research, as some homes expire or are cancelled and then relisted. So a home may have been on the market for more than a year, expired, re-listed and sold in 45 days. Obviously this 45 days is not the actual market time. In other words, you have to really do your homework and check the history of each house. - Mon Sep 15 2008, 14:15

Realistically, what is the commute time by car from southern newtown (merrick prkwy?) to Purchase, NY?

The good thing about commuting from Newtown is that you have the choice of whether to take the Merritt or the 84 to 684 route. I used to commute to Westchester, and sometimes varied it just for a change of scenery! It really depends on the hour you leave your house, and weather and accidents play a big part. I don't believe that one is always better than the other. I grew up in Westchester County, but moved to Bethel and then Newtown 16 years ago, so I know the areas and the driving times very well. - Fri May 9 2008, 06:22
