If you need a good source for local school information, you might wish to call the Collier County Schools at (239) 377-0001 or the Lee County Schools at (239) 454-6130. Besides these two main sources, we have a fine assemblage of private schools! We have raised 2 children that attended Collier County Schools and our experience was fabulous! We benefitted from Golden Gate Elementary School, Big Cypress Elementary School, Poincianna Elementary School, Pine Ridge Middle School, Gulfview Middle School and Lely High School! Why so many schools, you may wonder? We never moved throughout this period but our children were both placed in "gifted" programs and were moved to the appropriate centers for these activities for the appropriate grade level. We also participated in baseball, volleyball, track, swimming, diving, model UN, and a number of excellent open houses! We found our teaching staff to be excellent and the considerations made on behalf of our children to meet our anticipations! Dive in! When it comes to how much to borrow, one must look to one's own goals and priorities. Without knowing more, I'd suggest going a conventional route and putting 10-20% down. One of the best perks to homeownsership is using the interest on the loas as a tax benefit. Get that house and start reaping the benefits! You should find yourself immersed in choices of many great opportunities. Partner up with an experienced and knowledgeable REALTOR and find the home right for you!
