Lived in NYC for 6 of the best years of my life! Barnard Grad. I love it here and live in Mt Pleasant for the school system and beach and shopping. Relocated here almost 6 years ago from Boston. I have so much to say on all these topics. First I renovate for fun. My Husband is a builder and we own investment properties. The price of houses has dropped so its a great time to but especially if you have ability and vision! Sounds like youve got that. There are fun funky places to live Sullivans, Folly, Edisto but usually EXPENSIVE.
Job market and how much people are paid is strange. Usually very low wages. So do research on that. Your best bets may be the private schools, Porter Gaud, Ashley Hall.
