Sometimes the Home Inspection will "recommend" a follow up inspection by a licensed contractor, ie; air conditioner, heating, roofing. Most of the time, though, the Buyer, when asking for repairs, requests repairs be done by a licensed contractor. However, if you are paying for the repairs as the Buyer, and your Lender says a general handyman is OK with them, then you can get your Uncle Joe to do it.
