Madison, CT versus North Madison, CT

Bette Zollshan answered:
Hi Jessica,
I don't know if you are still looking in Madison, but interestingly, the line between north and south seems to be inching north these days. Clearly, you get more for you dollar, the further north you go in terms of house and lot size but even in the 'south', ie. south of Route 80, things vary dramatically neighborhood to neighborhood and in relation to Route 1 and the water. The good news is that either area enjoys a wonderful downtown, great beaches and recreation, and award winning schools.

If you need more information, please contact me. I'd be happy to help, and have lived and worked in Madison for most of the past 26 years.

Best regards,
Bette Zollshan

Guilford or Madison CT?

Bette Zollshan answered:
Dear Michael,
Having lived in and sold waterfront property in both towns, I can't say one is better. They are different. Madison beaches tend to be sandier, while Guilfords are more rugged but stunning. Also, much of the Guilford water oriented properties are to the southeast of town, while downtown Madison is due north of the shore, so there is much waterfront within walking distance of town. That said, both towns have wonderful, exclusive beach area homes, and some funkier, developing beach areas.

If you still have interest in the area, I know both towns very well, and would be happy to provide you with more information.
Warm regards,
Bette Zollshan

Bette Zollshan answered:
Dear Abba Poodles,
As a poodle owner, your querry is near and dear to me. I would suggest you look into towns like Westbrook, Old Saybrook and Killingworth. Killlingworth in particular is more rural in feeling than most towns near the shore, and has many large properties and is extremely popular with horse owners.

If you would like to see listings or learn more, please contact me. I would be pleased to help.

Hi David,
I don't know if you are still contemplating a move, or have already made one, but I have lived and worked on the CT shoreline for the past 26 years and think there are a number of towns up this way (between Branford and Old Lyme) that might meet your needs. If you would like more info or to receive listings for review, please contact me. I specialize in water oriented properties and would be happy to help.
