Cheryl,
A great article to give you an idea of what pays you back on a remodel is below.

I would agree with the other Realtors. Location is very important part of the value picture. Even the best home in a poor location will not give you a return on your investment.
Please check out the link below on area return on remodel. It is awesome. Good luck. - Fri Mar 28 2008, 05:01

I guess a better question is why? Depending on where your are with the contingencies, you will most likely close. If you look at the lines in your contract that talk about default you can get a better idea of what can happen if you do not close. - Fri Mar 21 2008, 19:51

I am not a lawyer, but I would make sure this is resolved before you close on your new home. It may be as simple and filing papers.
There are quite a few free legal advice websites that can give you direction.
P.S. congrats! on the purchase of your new home. - Fri Feb 15 2008, 09:08

Dawn,
As a property manager for 5 years, I think you should first be concerned about not receiving rent before you are even concerned about selling your home. Looking at your lease contract, what does it say about late rent, is there a penalty? I assume they pay for all utilities. These bills should all be in the renters name. Unless you have used a property management company, you need to contact a Real Estate Attorney. They will probably instruct you to send out a notice to your renters (5 day pay or quit). See the link below. You need to be tough on them if they are not paying. The longer they owe you the less likely they are to pay and you will be stuck with the bills. As far as selling your home, homes sell in every month. I have closed with clients in every month. If the price is right it will sell. - Tue Feb 12 2008, 07:31
