Not a problem, good luck with your home search. - Wed Apr 16 2008, 12:07
Well it really matters what your looking for specifically. If your looking based on price than you can find a lot of homes in East Lancaster built between 1950 to 1980 selling in the low to mid $100,000's. But usually the neighborhoods aren't ideal to live in-but for rentals they're more than fine.
If you're driven to buy based on a nice neighborhood than I'd recomend you look for properties on the West Side of Lancaster. The neighborhoods typically are more well kept, and are usually safer but with this comes higher prices. For the exact same house that I mentioned above, but on the West Side look to spend between $150,000 to $200,000. So you would than have to run the numbers with your lender and compare your expected monthly payments to market rents for this area to see if the scenario would make sense for you and what you're wanting to accomplish.
