About Me
I am the founder of http://www.seekingagents.com - a great way for people to find a real estate agent. I would be very appreciative of any thoughts, comments, or suggestions you might have for me about the site.

Why seekingagents.com?

It's simple. I think that real estate industry is fighting a losing battle against the gusting winds of technological change. I've run into many people in the real estate business who see competition as evil, and who see a virtual monopoly on their customers and their local territory as almost an inalienable right that they get along with their real estate license.

This really smacks of old world thinking. The internet will eventually make information about agent pay, success rate, reputation, etc. all easily available for customers. Naturally people are a little worried about the effect this will have on their business, but I think the good Realtors - the ones who work hard to represent their clients in the best possible way - have nothing to be afraid of.

In fact, I believe that the more information is out there for consumers, the more the good agents will benefit. To this end, I've created a market for real estate agents to gain clients based on reputation, the real estate client's needs, commission structure, marketing plan, etc.

The vision is a true market for real estate service. I hope some of you will join me in making this a reality.

As usual in real estate, it's location location location. Proximity to Manhattan, as Lisa mentioned, is definitely a top consideration. If that's not important for you, you should strongly consider looking in areas a little further away, as for you it will be quite a bit cheaper and with little to no downside.

Set yourself up with a buy-side agent from Orange county who can help you through some of these questions and help you better understand the type of home that will best suit your needs. There are lots of good Realtors on Trulia or try http://www.seekingagents.com

Theresa,

I think what you're looking for is doable if you look in the right neighborhood. There are quite a few to choose from in Dallas.

Look at Realtor.com to peruse available homes and find yourself a real estate agent in Dallas pronto. There's lots of really good ones on Trulia, or try seekingagents.com.

Best of luck,

Dan answered:
It all depends on the terms of your contract. Almost always sellers will accept this deal, but with the caveat that they can shop for better offers in the meantime. Whether you lose earnest money is definitely a point of negotiation.

Get yourself a real estate agent, they can help with your situation much more specifically than anyone on the message board. Try seekingagents.com for good ones.

I am looking to buy a home in the next year...

Dan answered:
Talk to a lender about 3-5 months before you're ready to buy. Talk to a realtor sometime after you talk to a lender. For obvious reasons, realtors are a lot more interested in you once you're pre-approved for the amount of home you want to buy.

Try seekingagents.com to find very good Realtors in your area.

my credit score is 541 can i buy a house in lawrence mass

Dan answered:
It depends how much money you can put down for a downpayment. If you can muster up 20%, you should be fine.

Try seekingagents.com to find a real estate agent who'll help you find a home, a loan, and take you through the buying process smoothly.

Best of luck,
