Agent at ERA Reardon Realty
Kathy Byerly answered:
I suggest you speak to your agent about your concerns. Then ask your agent to refer you to an agent who is more familiar with the area in which you wish to purchase your new home. That way the agent will still be compensated for the work she or he has done, and still do you the service of connecting you to someone who can better help you. I wouldn't hesitate to do that if my clients need more help in a situation like this. Sometimes it's easier for us, too. If we can't find the homes, we can't help you! If the agent won't agree to refer you, it might be time to write a note to the agent and copy their broker stating that you wish to sever your buyer agency relationship. While all agents ideally want to keep their clients to the end, it's much better business to refer and keep good rapport and promote professionalism. Good luck! - Tue Sep 1 2009, 18:57
