Kristin,
Most homeowners, whether it be a condo, townhome, or single family residence: engage the services of a realtor through a listing agreement, to handle the sale of their property. That realtor represents the seller in all of the contractual process of the sale. An agent is listed on this property. You should always speak with a realtor about representing you, as the buyer, in the purchase of any property. The seller pays the realtor fees for both sides of the transaction, so you are not obligated to pay for representation as a buyer. I hope this clarifies things for you. - Wed Jul 15 2009, 06:42
