Hi Elizabeth,
I would consider your lending options first. Knowing your financial condition will help you throughout your home search process all the way to your offer, into closing and the 'happily ever after' part. Ask your friends, co-workers and family. Who did they get superior service from in a lending professional. Depending on your schedule you can go online or in-person for that first consultation. Pick 3, shop around to those 3 finding the best deal for you.
Then select a REALTOR to find that home. REALTORS are held to a higher set of standards and ethics which separate us from 'just another real estate agent'. We have the education and experience to find, negotiate and close on the home you want. Even I f I do not help you, sign with a REALTOR.
If the house is on TRULIA, a REALTOR can find it for you. Price, location, and details can give me a clue what listing it is, and then using our local Multiple Listing search engine, find and arrange showings of that property and others.
I hope this gets you started and pointed in a good direction. I am a Realtor and familiar with the Hickory and surrounding market area. I get high marks in customer service and have received acknowledgments from my clients Take care and good luck.
