Hello again,
I hope that you are on your way an have arrived safely. PCS moves always come with nervous excitement! I think that a rental of 4-6 months while you get "your feet wet" is recommended. With you new to the area and not knowing YOU and your familys needs, it would be hard to say where YOU would want to live. There are many great areas within driving distance to FT. Lewis. My husband, SFC Army, have been here awhile and we jumped in! While that is good sometimes, not always. You need to find out where YOU feel comfortable and the drive you feel comfortable with. We have a lot of listings close to and about 20-30 minutes from Ft Lewis.
